Enteral feeding pumps (or tube feeding pumps) are designed to either clamp onto an IV pole or to be more portable. Some Enteral feeding pumps, such as the Sentinel, can be mounted onto an IV pole. Other pumps, like the Joey, can be used at a desktop in addition to mounting them to an IV pole. Some feeding pumps feature Backpack Accessories, so that they can be easily transported.

Enteral Feeding pump sets are bags that are designed to be used with feeding pumps. Some feeding bags do not require an enteral feeding pump to be used and these are gravity feeding bags. These feeding bags come with or without Spike Sets and in either 500 or 1000 mL.
Feeding pump bags are specific to certain feeding pumps though some may be compatible with a few different pumps. See specific feeding pump sets for compatibility information.

ELEMENTAL FORMULAS

Elemental formulas are nutritionally complete, which means they contain all of the nutrients needed to maintain nutritional sustenance. They are unique in that the protein equivalent and fats (medium chain triglycerides, or MCTs) are broken down to their simplest form, making them easier to digest.

SEMI-ELEMENTAL FORMULAS

Semi-elemental formulas contain amino acids of varying length, simple carbohydrates, and MCTs. They are partially pre-digested but not fully pre-digested.

POLYMERIC FORMULAS

Polymeric formulas contain whole proteins, complex carbohydrates, and long chain triglycerides, meaning the nutrients are intact and have not been broken down, which requires additional work by the digestive system

SPECIALIZED FORMULAS

These are nutritionally complete products, designed to meet the needs of individuals with specific health conditions. The availability varies widely.
